My Story:
Justin, from Truro, Cornwall, recently completed the Skills Bootcamp in Digital Marketing and is excited to embrace new opportunities after refreshing his skills and building confidence in a fast-evolving field.
With a degree in International Business, gained in 1995, and 15 years of experience as a Fraud Analyst in the gaming industry, Justin’s journey has been uniquely diverse. Now serving as an RAF reservist, he decided to explore digital marketing to stay current and pursue his ambition of becoming a digital marketing freelancer.
Justin said: “I decided to do the Skills Bootcamp because it was a low-risk way of learning new skills to get me up to date on how to promote business.”
Despite his extensive professional background, Justin initially faced some fears about returning to learning, feeling uncertain about his abilities at his age. “I worried I would be too washed out at 52,” he admitted. However, the supportive environment of the Skills Bootcamp put those doubts to rest.
Balancing the course alongside his work, family, and other commitments, Justin found the experience both manageable and rewarding. It not only gave him practical knowledge but also opened up opportunities to connect with others and develop skills that will benefit him long-term.
“The best part has been gaining up-to-date knowledge, meeting new people, and challenging myself to think differently,” Justin shared.
His newfound skills have already sparked plans to promote his own property let and explore freelance opportunities in digital marketing. Justin is optimistic about what lies ahead and hopes to make freelancing a career in the near future.
When reflecting on the experience, Justin summed it up as “awesome” with clear advice for anyone hesitant to take the leap: “Just do it. It’s free. Make the leap and go for it.”
Justin’s experience shows that it’s never too late to embrace change and learn something new. The Skills Bootcamp in Digital Marketing has given him the confidence and tools to shape a future that aligns with his ambitions, opening the door to exciting new opportunities.
